UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has established the first UNESCO Chair in Arts and Learning at the Faculty of Education, Queen's University with the full support of the Dean. Led by Chairholder, Professor Larry O'Farrell the Chair promotes the priorities of UNESCO in relation to arts education, creativity, teacher education, research, and e-learning. The main priority is to encourage and strengthen international linkages and capacity building in arts education.
Alternative Practicum
The three-week "Alternative Practicum" is completed by BEd candidates in March each year and can be done outside of Ontario and Canada. In the past five years, 607 candidates have arranged international placements in 75 countries in museums, galleries, international schools, hospitals, theatres, etc.
Queen’s University is an institutional member of the Inter-American Distance Education Consortium (CREAD). Dean Rosa Bruno-Jofré has been appointed Vice-President for English-speaking Canada.
Teachers' Overseas Recruiting Fair (TORF)
The Faculty of Education at Queen's University hosts its annual Teachers' Overseas Recruiting Fair in February each year. With approximately 80 international schools participating, this is the original and largest event of its kind in Canada.

International Research
Internationally Trained Teachers (ITT)
Queen's University has a commitment to equity and inclusion and fosters initiatives that will result in a teaching force that reflects and values the ethnic diversity of Ontario students. The ITT Admission Category has been initiated to give new Canadians with international teaching experience the opportunity to apply for one of the designated ITT places with the Bachelor of Education program at the Faculty of Education, Queen’s University. Each year, up to 15 places are available.

Publications
Two international journals are housed in the Faculty of Education. Encounters on Education/Encuentros sobre Educación/Rencontres sur l'Éducation is available both online and in hard copy.
Historical Studies in Education/Revue d'histoire de l'éducation can be ordered through the Faculty.
Queen's Education Letter brings current research in education to the local, national and international communities of parents, teachers and others.
Issues in Arts Education in Latin America is one example of a book published by the Faculty with an international context.
