Bureau of Research

The purpose of the Bureau of Research is to promote and coordinate support for research in the Faculty of Education. The Bureau operates under the Faculty's Graduate Studies and Bureau of Research Office.

The original concept for the Bureau of Research was due to the late Martin Schiralli.

Major Components

Endowment Fund

This fund was established with $200,000, which will be followed by annual contributions.

Faculty of Education Conference Travel Award

Faculty and adjuncts whose primary appointment is in the Faculty of Education are eligible to apply for funding to assist with the costs of travel for the purpose of presenting significant scholarly work. 

Researching Our Teaching Practice: The Preservice Experience (TEACH)

(TEACH) is designed to encourage faculty to study and to enhance their teaching practice in the preservice program. Funding will be provided for projects such as action research and applied research to be conducted by tenure stream and adjunct faculty, as well as graduate teaching fellows and staff with teaching responsibilities.

Research Seed Money

Faculty members (both tenure track and renewable and continuing adjuncts) have access to $50,000 in Research Seed Money through an adjudicated process.

e-Learning Incentive Grant

The e-Learning Incentive Grant is designed to encourage faculty and staff to contribute visibly and significantly to the Faculty goal of integrating information technology into teaching, learning, scholarship, and administration.
